What did you think you were going to be in elementary school or high school?

In elementary school, I wanted a pediatrician or a teacher. By high school, I knew I wanted to be a publicist. I attribute that to a lot of cable TV watching and begging my mom to buy me as many magazines as I could convince her of. OK!, U.S. Weekly and PEOPLE were my favorites for all the celebrity drama.

Did you study PR? If so, why? If not, what did you study?

I did study PR at Florida International University with a minor in social media marketing. I wanted Samantha Jones' career like in SATC. I was also a big influencer follower in the early YouTube days, mostly beauty, like Casey Holmes and Kandee Johnson. Both of these interests contributed to my path to PR!

How did you make your way to Carve?

After college graduation, I worked at various internships and side hustles with local Miami brands before I saw an opening for an internship at Carve. I applied via LinkedIn and was working with the team just one month later. I joined the team full-time two months later, and shortly after came my first-ever media placement on POPSUGAR! The journey with Carve continues 5 years later!

What do you do today at Carve?

I lead the advocate team at Carve, building strategic, creative campaigns with the best advocates that drive results for clients. From mom/parenting to gaming, sports, apps, and healthcare marketing, we are experts in creating relationships with advocates and influencers across a vast amount of industries.

What is the coolest project you've ever worked on - anywhere?

In my early PR days at a previous internship, we coordinated an event for a fashion designer where one of the models backed out at the last minute. Little 'ol me had to step onto a runway as a backup. Never let anyone tell you that your skills as an intern don't matter!

What is the career accomplishment you're most proud of?

Not just surviving, but THRIVING at press events! 16 events so far, and counting! Especially at CES – as a 5X attendee, one of my biggest takeaways is to start planning early. Don’t wait until November to start nurturing relationships with media who may be on the floor, have more than one backup plan in place, and arrive early to EVERYTHING.

What is your superpower?

Going with the flow!

What would you love to learn more about?

Photography.

If you were asked to teach someone how to do something in 5 minutes, what would it be?

How to sign up to Instagram. Why? Sending memes via DM is a love language! Keep up with all things Carve on our Instagram.
